If you only have a single monitor connected to your computer and receive the following error, “Multiple screens were detected on your computer. Please disable one and restart them”, please try the following solution.
Method 1:
1. Open the Settings
2. Go to System > Display
3. Scroll down and locate Multiple Displays, in the dropdown select Show only on 1
4. Lastly, select Keep Changes
5. You may also press Windows Key + P to change the project settings. Then choose PC Screen Only or Second Screen Only depending on the monitor that the test taker prefers.
Method 2:
If the above steps do not work and you only have a single monitor connected and still continue to receive the error, please check the steps below.
1. Open the Control Panel
- Win 10- use the Search bar and type "Device Manager", skip to step 4
2. In the upper right corner of the Control Panel ensure the “View by:” option is set to “Small icons". Change to "Small icons" if needed.
3. Select "Device Manager"
4. Locate Monitors and click the > to show the monitors that are detected
5. If there are 2 Monitors detected as shown above, you may have 2 cables connected to your Computer but only 1 monitor
6. Check which cable is connected to both the computer and the monitor
7. If there is a second HDMI or VGA cable connected to the computer, please remove it from the computer.
8. Restart the computer and attempt to take the exam again
