If you are experiencing Internet Connection Issues, here are a couple of things you can do to troubleshoot:
- Check if you are connected to Wi-Fi.
- Open the Network Manager by selecting the Signal Icon on the upper right of the desktop then select Wi-Fi settings.
- On the Network Tab, make sure that there is a check mark on the Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Open the Network Manager by selecting the Signal Icon on the upper right of the desktop then select Wi-Fi settings.
- Check if your device has an assigned IP Address:
- Open Terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)
- Type ip addr show
- NOTE: If no IP Address is assigned, please restart the device.
- Run a Ping test:
- On the Terminal screen type ping 8.8.8.8
- On the Terminal screen type ping 8.8.8.8
The Ping test helps to identify the quality of the Internet Connection. The more packages are received and less time was spent for packages to reach its destination, the better the internet connection. More packages lost during the request means the poorer connection.
NOTE: To end the Ping Test, press CTRL+C or close the Terminal screen.
